Canyon Hiking

One day this summer Zephyr, Astro, and I headed out to a favorite canyon for a few hours.  I've been meaning to post this for a long time.  So, to speed things up I'm posting with limited commentary.  :-)

It was during our summer rainy season, so there was lots of water to play in.

The boys and I take a family portrait.

All the plants were green and lush and they had fun smelling around in them.

Lots of exploring was done by one

and all.

Cruzzin' along.

Zephyr really likes to lie down in water.  In these shots you can see how he really wanted to roll on his side, but the water was just a little too deep for him to keep his head above the water.

It was nice and refreshing for him though and he stayed there quite awhile.

Of course, there were a few play sessions.  Zephyr's ready to zoom!

Puppies need to cool off after a rowdy romp.

Handsome guy.  As of October 29 Zephyr is one year grand mal seizure free.  WooHoo!!

One last dip before heading home.

I am so jealous of all your cool hiking spots! Bunny says to tell Astro and Zephyr that they are both looking fine. It looks like a fantastic hike!

What a beautiful spot! In that last picture, what is that formation they are standing next to?
Rye loves to lie down in water too.
Your boys have such a wonderful life :)

Claire, I almost mentioned the rocks. All the rocks in the pictures are the Coconino Sandstone, which is also in the Grand Canyon and Sedona. It's eroded and fluted from running water that get's in its fractures, etc. This canyon actually goes in to Oak Creek Canyon which leads to Sedona, Az.

Oh wow that looks like fun. I wish I was there with you. I don't seem to like water at all (I won't even paddle in a tiny stream) but Mum reckons it's just because I'm not used to it. Great news about Zephyr too. Deccy x
